Recipes can use volume, mass, or temperature. Those are different kinds of measurements, so it helps to know what a conversion is actually comparing.
Volume measures space
Teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, millilitres, and fluid ounces measure volume. The Clevererexa converter uses standard US customary cup and spoon values for these conversions.
Mass measures weight
Grams and ounces (weight) measure mass. Converting mass to volume depends on the ingredient’s density: a cup of flour does not weigh the same as a cup of honey. The converter asks for an ingredient when crossing between mass and volume and uses approximate densities.
Temperature conversion
To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, multiply by 9/5 and add 32. To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9. Oven labels can be rounded, so follow a recipe’s instructions when available.
